CARLSBAD COMMUNITY CHURCH
The Sound Image Contracting Division completed an audio installation for Carlsbad Community Church, in August 2002.
The system upgrade consists of new loudspeakers, amplifiers, signal processing and cabling, and is designed to operate as an exploded, full-range, point-source, monaural sound system. Every effort has been made to optimize the system for proper sound distribution and coverage, power handling, fidelity, speech intelligibility, ease of operation and reliability. Senior Engineer Mike Fay carefully listened to the client's requirements, then proceeded doing full digital EASE models of the sanctuary, utilizing different loudspeaker configurations. The system he decided on, (with some valued input from Ben Bergen, church audio engineer) consists of full range "main" loudspeakers, front and booth fill speakers, subwoofers, and delayed balcony and under-balcony speakers.
When required, the system is capable of delivering 100dB SPL to all seating areas in the sanctuary. A multi-channel, digital signal processor is used to adjust, process and route all main, delayed and monitoring signal paths. The new installation is integrated with the owner's existing mixing console, microphones, mic lines, monitor lines, monitor amplifiers, monitor speakers and assisted listening devices.
